StrataGrid is a drone inspection and aerial photography service based in Southampton, run by Ewa Cielepa. We cover Southampton and the wider areas of Hampshire, Dorset and West Sussex, including Chichester. Using drones, we give homeowners, builders, estate agents and churches a clear, close-up view of roofs, gutters and properties without the cost, time or risk of scaffolding and ladders.

We offer three main services. Roof and gutter inspections provide close-up photos and video of tiles, flashing, chimneys, valleys and gutters, so problems can be spotted before anyone climbs up. Aerial property photos and video show a home, its plot and its setting for estate agents, sellers and builders. Church and heritage roof surveys give parishes and architects a careful visual record of high, fragile or hard-to-reach roofs. All work is priced by quote, so every job is planned around the site and what the customer needs.

Anyone can buy a drone, but flying one for work needs proper qualifications, insurance and permissions. StrataGrid is a CAA-registered drone operator, holds an A2 Certificate of Competency and carries commercial public liability insurance. The Level 1 Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC-L1) is in progress. Every job has its own written flight plan and risk assessment, and we follow a written operations manual. We arrange all the permissions needed, including airport, port and council approvals, so there is no hassle for the customer.

Customers can describe their job using the job checker on our website, or by email. We then check the airspace, arrange any permissions, assess the site and agree a date. Most jobs take under two hours on site, and if the weather is not safe for flying we give as much notice as possible and rebook. Afterwards, customers receive edited photos and video, clearly labelled so each part of the roof or property is easy to find.
